Rehabilitation of Saro-Khizabavra irrigation scheme is underway
Reconstruction of amelioration infrastructure continues in Samtskhe-Javakheti. “Georgian Amelioration” ltd is rehabilitating Saro-Khizabavra pumping irrigation system in Aspindza municipality.
The project is implemented in 2 stages. In the first stage, rehabilitation of I and II lifting pumping stations and main canal was carried out.
At this stage, restoration works of the pressure pipeline are underway, which envisage replacement of 1400-meter-long pipeline.
As a result of the project implementation, 500 hectares of agricultural land will be irrigated in the villages of Saro and Khizabavra through the restored irrigation scheme. The cost of the project is GEL 562 000.
