Rehabilitation of ameliorative infrastructure is underway in Kakheti
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd continues rehabilitation of irrigation and drainage schemes within the framework of ameliorative infrastructural projects.
In Kakheti, restoration works on water division box of Zemo Alazani irrigation scheme are actively underway.
The project envisages arrangement of different types of hydraulic structures, namely: water intake facilities, hydrants, distribution and impoundment wells, discharge boxes. At this stage, polyethylene pipes of different diameters with total length of 10 850 meters are being laid.
Then works carried out will ensure regular irrigation of additional 500 hectares of agricultural land in Akhmeta Municipality.
The cost of the project is GEL 1 935 879 million.
Davit Tsitlidze- General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” has got acquainted with the ongoing works in Akhmeta Municipality.
As of today, “Georgian Amelioration” ltd is implementing 15 rehabilitation projects in the Kakheti region simultaneously, after completion of which additional 1990 hectares of agricultural land will be irrigated, while irrigation water supply will be improved on 9,300 hectares.
