Rehabilitation of Mtisdzira canal has been completed
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd has completed rehabilitation of the Mtisdzira canal in Lanchkhuti Municipality.
Within the framework of the project, total of 17 kilometers of drainage canal was cleaned from bushes and sedimentation. Restoration works were carried out on various types of hydraulic structures arranged on the canal.
As a result of the works performed, discharge capacity of the canal has increased, which will improve the removal of excess water from the 6900 hectares of agricultural land.
The works with cost of GEL 1,485,000, were initiated by “Georgian Amelioration” ltd on its own resources in July last year and have been completed this month.
Currently, 3 rehabilitation infrastructural projects are underway in Guria, as a result of which additional 750 hectares of agricultural land will be drained.
