Works for alignment of amelioration infrastructure continue in Shida Kartli
“Georgian Amelioration” Ltd. is carrying out rehabilitation of water division box of Tirifoni irrigation scheme in Gori Municipality.
The project is implemented by financial support of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), within which a 22 km long irrigation canal will be rehabilitated.
The works envisage cleaning of 8.6 km long section of the main canal, and the arrangement of reinforced concrete canalettes and various hydraulic facilities at 13.4 km.
The works carried out shall facilitate to the improvement of irrigation water supply on 525 ha of agricultural land area in the villages of Kvemo Artsevi, Didi Garejvari, Patara Garejvari, Satemo and Tsitsagiantkari.
The cost of the project is GEL 2,817,000 million.
Davit Tsitlidze-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd. and Giorgi Khojevanishvili-State Representative in Shida Kartli Region have got acquainted with the completed and ongoing projects on irrigation schemes in Shida Kartli.
The rehabilitation works on the Tiriponi irrigation scheme will be completed in 2020.
