Cleaning works are ongoing on the main canal of Tiriphoni irrigation system
“Georgian Amelioration” Ltd under the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia is actively implementing amelioration infrastructure projects throughout the country.
Irrigation system repair works are ongoing in order to improve water supply in Shida Kartli,
Tiriphoni main canal is cleaned of alluvial mass and silt in the Mejvriskhevi-Bershueti section.
Measures taken by the maintenance program ensures water flow without interruption in the canal, which will improve irrigation water supply to 1200 ha of agricultural land. Above mentioned works will contribute Nadarbazevi water reservoir to fill on time.
Population of 8 villages of Gori municipality – Mejvriskhevi, Zerti, Kirbali, Kvarakheti, Kheltubani, Bershueti, Zemo sobisisa and Khurvaleti will benefit with restored irrigation system.
Currently, Shida Kartli 7 rehabilitation projects of amelioration infrastructure are being implemented.
