David Tsitlidze got acquainted with amelioration projects in Samtskhe-Javakheti
David Tsitlidze-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture inspected amelioration infrastructural items in Samtskhe-Javakheti and got familiar with the ongoing and completed rehabilitation projects in the region, including operation of the rehabilitated Kaurma-Mamtsvara and Mamtsvara irrigation schemes.
As a result of implementation of the aforementioned projects total of 1300 ha of agricultural land area has been supplied with irrigation water. Rehabilitation of amelioration schemes is actively in progress in the region.
Repair of Zresi irrigation scheme in Akahlkalaki municipality shall ensure irrigation of 1140 ha of agricultural land area and improvement of irrigation water supply on 440 ha in the municipality.
General Director, together with the representatives of the regional offices on-site discussed future plans and the projects which the company schedules to implement in Samtskhe-Javakheti in the nearest future.
For the last 7 years, total of 21 rehabilitation projects of amelioration infrastructure have been implemented in the region. Consequently, 9 000 ha of agricultural land area has been supplied with water, while supply of irrigation water has been improved on 1700 ha.
