Rehabilitation of Chala-Orguli irrigation system is ongoing
"Georgian Amelioration" LTD continues to improve the amelioration infrastructure along with irrigation season. municipality Rehabilitation of Chala-Orguli irrigation system is ongoing in Sachkhere.
The I phase of the project envisages the regulation of the Chala-Orguli irrigation system headwork and Chala section of the main canal.
Within the framework of the project the canal of cast in-situ reinforced concrete on 840 m. length and new water diverting structures will be arranged; rehabilitation will be provided with on existing pipelines;
As a result of the carried out works, 50 hectares of agricultural land area will be irrigated in the village of Chala.
Tengiz Lakirbaia, Technical Director of "Georgian Amelioration" Ltd visited Imereti region in order to get acquainted with the works.
Total cost of the project is 242 500 GEL.
The irrigation system intakes water from the headwork, arranged in the bed of the river Kvirila. The length of the main canal of Chala irrigation system is 2.5 km.
