Rehabilitation of main canal of Dimi-Rokiti irrigation scheme
Rehabilitation of main canal of Dimi-Rokiti irrigation scheme is underway in Bagdadi municipality, Imereti region.
Tengiz Lakirbaia -Technical Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd has got acquainted with the ongoing works.
The project envisages cleaning of the main canal, lining of the section with cast-in situ concrete, arrangement of embankment protection wall at the collector and headworks.
Rehabilitation is carried out on culverts and tunnel as well.
As a result of the mentioned works, supply of irrigation water shall be improved on 820 ha of agricultural land area of the municipality.
Dimi-Rokiti irrigation scheme starts from the dam headworks located on the Khanistskali River. Length of the main canal amounts to 3,264 km.
