Vehicles were transferred to “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd
The World Bank has transferred vehicles to “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd. „The technique transferred by World Bank to “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd is crucial for effective implementation of the “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd activities.“ The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili, announced about it at the event where the World Bank transferred 25 units of the “Renault” cars, special equipment and computer technique to "Georgian Amelioration" Ltd within the "Irrigation and Land Market Development Program".
“Georgian Amelioration" Ltd has fully renewed the autopark, within the framework of the World Bank Project. It is noteworthy that rebranding company’s activities will be more efficient for restoration of irrigation canals or for proper irrigation works.”-anounced Levan Davitashvili.
Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Direcotor General of Ltd “Georgian Amelioration” Otar Shamugia, Local Representative of World Bank, Project Manager Lali Durmishidze and Company employees attended the event of transferring vehicles and special equipment to “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd.
Since 2015 “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia has been implementing the World Bank project for the rehabilitation of amelioration infrastructure and for technical equipment in the amount of 45 million USD.
Rehabilitation-Reconstraction works are already completed on the main canals of Kvemo Samgori, upper Ru and Tbisi-Kumisi irrigation systems. Design works are ongoing on above mentioned systems on-farm network, which will be completed by the end of 2019.
„Irrigation and Land Market Development Program“ promotes institutional development of the “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd providing technical equipment, elaboration of national modernization plan, supporting creation of Water Users Organizations and preparation of relevant legislative framework.
