Ongoing disaster liquidation works in Gori and Kareli villages
In several villages of Gori and Kareli municipality, "Georgian Amelioration" LTD is implementing liquidation works on the agricultural land plots, that have been flooded during the heavy rainfall.
Water pumping works are underway with special techniques.
Shida Kartli Regional Service of "Georgian Amelioration" LTD received appropriate measures just after the rain started;
Pump aggregates of Megvrekisi pumping station were turned off, as a result of which, water supply to Salta and Zemo Nikozi was suspended; Outlet gates were opened at the dam of headwork; Dzlevijvari, alternative and Zeda ru irrigation canals were closed.
The General Director of "Georgian Amelioration" LTD. Otar Shamugia, and representatives of the regional service, are remaining on place.
Up to now, the amelioration techniques are operating in the villages of Kelktseuli, Dzlevijvari and Aradeti, where the excess water removal works from the agricultural and household land plots, flooded by the disaster, are implementing.
