Amelioration-Infrastructural Ongoing Projects in Shida Kartli
The General Director of "Georgian Amelioration" LTD got acquainted with the ongoing Amelioration-Infrastructural projects in Shida Kartli – in Kareli, Gori and Kaspi municipalities.
Rehabilitation works are underway on one of the stretches of Tashiskari irrigation system, the restoration of which will provide water supply to 400 hectares of land in Kareli municipality. As a result of works, the foundation and walls of the canal will be covered by cast in-situ reinforced concrete.
Rehabilitation works are being carried out to Meghvrekisi and Arbo-Ditsi pumping stations in Gori municipality. The projects, focused on reconstruction-modernization, include the following works: El.supply buildings will be repaired and the el.system of the station will be renewed; Pumping aggregates will be installed; Polyethylene water pipes will be arranged on the pumping station area. As a result of these works, irrigation water supply will be improved on 840 hectares of land in Gori municipality.
Otar Shamugia also looked through ongoing works on the mechanical irrigation system of Khviti in Kaspi. The project envisages implementation works of various types on irrigation system: the stretch of 6.500 meters of upper main canal is cleaned from the sediment and tree-bushes; Amortized hydropower structures and equipment are replaced by new infrastructure; closed water distributors out of the distribution canal will be replaced and water supply wells will be arranged. These works will provide water to 230 hectares of agricultural land in Kaspi municipality.
Rehabilitation works also include repairing of Khviti pumping station, restoration-arrangement of additional buildings and fencing of pumping station area.
