Rehabilitation of Tashiskari irrigation scheme is underway
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd is carrying out rehabilitation of Tashiskari irrigation scheme in Shida Kartli.
Rehabilitation is in progress on headworks and distribution canal.
The project envisages total repair of the existing intake unit, hydraulic structures and their mechanical equipment: repair of regulation box of the gallery, valve gates and hoisting mechanisms.
Repair works are carried out on 5 km long section of the distribution canal as well, the bottom of which shall be lined with cast in-situ concrete, while reinforced concrete slabs shall be installed on the slopes.
It’s scheduled to arrange outlet units and operation road.
As a results of the works carried out, supply of irrigation water shall be improved on 380 ha of land area and land plots of the villages of Kareli municipality- Bebnisi and Urbnisi shall be irrigated without delay.
