Rehabilitation of Kvemo Samgori irrigation scheme is underway
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture is carrying out rehabilitation of Kvemo Samgori irrigation scheme in Kakheti.
Rehabilitation of 9 km long section of distribution canal is underway.
Within the works steel pipes of different diameter have been installed. By this time works for installation of supporting slabs of culverts, cast in-situ concrete outlet wells and flumes are in progress.
The territory used to be covered with vegetation and shrubs. The depreciated canal had been inoperable for the years. In parallel with cleaning and alignment of the territory, operation road shall be arranged.
Otar Shamugia-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd has got familiar with the ongoing works.
The newly arranged section of the main canal of Kvemo Samgori irrigation scheme shall facilitate to irrigation of up to 325 ha of agricultural land area in Sagarejo municipality.
The project is at the stage of completion.
