Works are underway on Khram Arkhi irrigation scheme, in Marneuli
Rehabilitation of the damaged reach of the main canal of Khram Arkhi irrigation scheme is underway in Marneuli municipality.
Repair works are carried out on up to 12 km long reach of the canal, the bottom and slopes of which shall be arranged with reinforce net and cast in-situ concrete.
Outlet structures, bridges and aqueduct of the irrigation scheme shall also be rehabilitated.
Otar Shamugia-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd visited Kvemo Sartli region to get acquainted with the ongoing works.
Repair of the abovementioned reach shall facilitate to the improvement of irrigation of 4 075 ha of land area in the villages of Khizilajlo, Marneuli, Sabirkendi and Algeti.
Total of GEL 2 140 624 has been allocated for the rehabilitation works.
Furthermore, rehabilitation of Imirasani, Agmashenebeli and Barataant Arkhi irrigation schemes is underway in Kvemo Kartli. Consequently, additional 1370 ha of agricultural land area shall be water covered, while supply of irrigation water shall be improved on 4485 ha.
