Buried irrigation network has been installed in three municipalities of Kakheti region
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Agriculture has implemented the project on installation of buried irrigation network for supplying irrigation water to seven villages of Dedoplistskaro, Sagarejo and Signagi municipalities. Total cost of the project amounts to GEL 350 000. Via 5 km long pipeline and portable pumping aggregates of the Company’s mobile amelioration service that was established in 2015, supply of irrigation water to 500 ha of agricultural land area will be available. This year Company’s mobile amelioration fleet has been expanded, creating additional opportunity to supply irrigation water to such agricultural land area that can’t be irrigated through stationary pumping infrastructure.
Since 2012 to the date total of 27 rehabilitation projects of amelioration infrastructure have been implemented in Kakheti region, resulting in increase of water supplied agricultural land area from 6000 ha up to 14 180 ha in the region.
