Rehabilitation of Inaboti Drainage Canal
“Georgian Amelioration” LTD of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia actively implements rehabilitation works of drainage and irrigation canals across the whole Country.
The Minister of Agriculture of Georgia Mr. Otar Danelia, the General Director of "Georgian Amelioration” LTD Mr. Levan Dvali, together with the Deputy Governor of Kakheti Region, got acquainted with the rehabilitation works on Inaboti drainage canal.
Rehabilitation works of Inaboti drainage collector started a month ago in Lagodekhi Municipality. Within the project, 4 km section of collector will be cleaned. The first phase of the works will be finished in July, 2016 and on 400 ha area drainage service will be restored. As a result, the population of 5 villages of Lagodekhi Municipality - Chabukiani, Kalkva, Dzirkoki, Chandari, Vejini will be capable of use the mentioned land area with agricultural purpose.
For now, rehabilitation works of 8 million Georgian Lari on 7 objects are being implemented in Kakheti Region. After works are finished, for the next year several thousand ha of land will be irrigated.
From 2012, 26 rehabilitation projects of amelioration infrastructure have been finished in Kakheti Region. As a result, water-ensured area has been increased from 6 000 to 14 000 ha in Region.
Together with the Minister, the Deputy Minister David Galegashvili and the representatives of local government also got acquainted with the rehabilitation works of drainage canal.
