Rehabilitation of the Aghmashenebeli Irrigation Scheme is underway
General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” LTD Otar Shamugia visited Kvemo Kartli, where infrastructure projects have been implementing intensively.
Rehabilitation of Aghmashenebeli irrigation scheme is carried out in Marneuli Municipality.
Within the framework of the project, the existing earth canal, totally 630 meters shall be lined with the reinforced concrete, in the village of Saimerlo.
Outlet gates and over cross bridges will be arranged and hydraulic structure will be repaired.
Presently 70% of rehabilitation works have already been completed.
As a result of fully rehabilitation of Aghmashenebeli irrigation scheme, water supply will be improved on the 1,886 ha of agricultural land area in the municipality.
The local population of 8 villages (Tamarisi, Saimerlo, Baylar, Badar, Futlari, Mughanlo, Lezhbadin and Khutor-lezhbadin) will benefit from the rehabilitated amelioration scheme.
