Rehabilitation of Lami-Misaktsieli irrigation system is under way
“Georgian Amelioration” LTD of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia carries out the rehabilitation of Lami-misaktsieli irrigation system.
Within the framework of the project, the filtration measures are under way on 2030 meters stretch. New reinforced concrete slabs, stilling well and bermes of the main canal are being installed.
Lami-misaktsieli irrigation system serves 15 villages (Tsitelsopeli, Naoza, Agdgomliantkari, Misaktsieli, Natakhtari, Akhalubani, Tsilkani, Ereda, Dzalisi, Mukhrani, Qanda, Chardakhi, Tserovani, Gorovani and Vardisubani) of Mtskheta-mtianeti region.
The system irrigates nearly 5,000 hectares of agricultural land area.
During the last 6 years 13 rehabilitation Projects of amelioration Infrastructure were completed in Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region. As a result, in addition 4 660 hectares of agricultural land are supplied with water; irrigation water supply is improved at 1 600 hectares, while drained land area is 3 400 hectares.
