Rehabilitation of upper main channel of Zemo Samgori Irrigation System is over
"Georgian Amelioration" LTD under the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia finished the rehabilitation of Zemo Samgori Irrigation System in Gardabani municipality.
Within the framework of the project, a new channel of reinforced concrete of 4 km was arranged. Rehabilitation was held on the main channel to the water distribution and other different types of hydropower structures existing on it. Water intake wells and parabolic groves were installed.
The works, which were undertaken to the irrigation system, provide additional water irrigation on 1 200 hectares of agricultural land in the village of Sartichala.
39 rehabilitation projects of amelioration infrastructure have been implemented during the last 6 years. As a result, in addition 23 475 hectares are irrigable, while irrigation water supply is improved on 22 520 hectares of land plots.
