Cleaning works of drainage scheme in the village Tsaishi are underway
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Agriculture is carrying out cleaning works of Tsaishi drainage scheme in Zugdidi municipality. Within technical-maintenance arrangements up to 2 km long main canal has been cleaned from ground sediment and restored. After completion of the works drainage service will be restored on 35 ha of agricultural land area in the municipality. Furthermore, the canal will protect 6 ha of household land plots and Tsaishi section of Senaki-Tbilisi main highway from flooding during heavy rainfall. The current works have started in 2017 August and will be completed in early October.
In 2012-2017 within rehabilitation and technical-maintenance arrangements, total of 894,4 km long drainage canal was cleaned and arranged, 217 units of different types of hydraulic structures , 1 headworks and 1 pumping station were restored in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region.
