Rehabilitation of Kazreti irrigation scheme is underway
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Agriculture is implementing rehabilitation project of Kazreti irrigation scheme, in Kvemo Kartli region. On the first stage, up to 4 km long leaking section of the main canal will be lined with reinforced concrete. After full completion of the project, irrigation water supply regime will be improved on 1045 ha of agricultural land area of Bolnisi municipality. Residents of 10 villages of the municipality will benefit from the improved irrigation service.
The first stage of the works, with total cost of GEL 236 953 will be completed by the end of 2017.
Since 2012, total of 27 rehabilitation projects of amelioration infrastructure have been implemented in Kvemo Kartli region. Consequently, water supplied agricultural land area has increased up to 46 255 ha.
