Rehabilitation of Avranlo-Gumbati irrigation scheme
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Agriculture implements rehabilitation project of Avranlo-Gumbati irrigation scheme, in Tsalka municipality.
Within the project, main and secondary distribution canals will be rehabilitated. 10 km long main canal will be lined with concrete; headworks ad water inlet structure, design section of the main canal; as well as existing division boxes and water conduit structures will be restored; distribution network will be arranged in household plots.
David Kikolashvili - Head of Kvemo Kartli regional office has inspected the ongoing works together with the representatives of the local government.
As a result of the rehabilitation works, 11100 ha agricultural land area of 5 villages of the municipality will be supplied with irrigation network.
The project with total cost of GEL 1 754 998 will be completed by the end of 2017.
Since 2012, total of 27 rehabilitation projects of amelioration infrastructure have been implemented in Kvemo Kartli region. Consequently, water supplied agricultural land area has increased up to 46 255 ha.
