Rehabilitation of Okami Pumping Station
The Okami pumping station rehabilitation project is going on in Akhalkalaki municipality, with the purpose of ensuring 300 hectares of agricultural land with irrigation water provision. Within the framework of the project: A new pumping station was constructed with pump aggregates; The old dam, water intake, reservoir, the wall between the dam and the pumping station were restored. As a result of the rehabilitation project, residents of 4 villages - Okami, Kartsebi, Apnia and Gogasheni will benefit from rehabilitated irrigation services. The project, which costs 444 444 GEL, will be completed in August of this year. 10 rehabilitation projects of amelioration systems have been implemented in Samtskhe-Javakheti region since 2012. As a result, the irrigated agricultural land area was increased up to 6 740 hectares.
