Rehabilitation of Kvemo Samgori irrigation scheme is underway
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture actively continues arrangement of amelioration infrastructure. Rehabilitation of Kvemo Samgori irrigation scheme is underway in Sagarejo municipality.
Repair works are carried out on 14km long section of left main canal and different hydraulic works (gallery, inverted siphon, bridge passage, chute) located on it. As a result of the ongoing arrangements, supply of irrigation water shall be improved on up to 5000 ha of agricultural land area in Kakheti.
Population of 5 villages (Ninotsminda, Sagarejo, Giorgitsminda, Tokhliauri, Manavi) of the municipality shall benefit from the repaired irrigation scheme.
Otar Shamugia-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd has got acquainted with the progress of rehabilitation works and met with local population.
