Restoration works of irrigation schemes in Samtskhe-Javakheti are underway
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture is carrying out rehabilitation of headworks and main canal of Kaurma-Mamtsvara and Mamtsvara irrigation schemes in Samtskhe-Javakheti.
Otar Shamugia - General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd has got familiar with ongoing works on-situ. Within the project, intake type headworks, outlet wells and culverts are arranged. The old depreciated canal shall be fully replaced and cast in-situ concrete canal shall be arranged.
Capital repair of Kaurma-Mamtsvara and Mamtsvara irrigation schemes shall facilitate to irrigation of three villages of Ninotsminda. Population of the villages- Jigrasheni, Kaurma and Mamtsvara shall be able to irrigate 1 315 ha of agricultural land area after completion of ameliorative infrastructural works. “Georgian Amelioration” ltd shall complete the aforementioned works in Autumn of the current year.
