Otar Shamugia visited the amelioration facilities in Shida Kartli
The Director General of "Georgian Amelioration" LTD together with the representatives of regional service visited the existing amelioration infrastructure in Shida Kartli.
Otar Shamugia got acquainted with the ongoing and planned projects and plans to implement for future irrigation season which are being realised by "Georgian Amelioration" LTD.
There are four ongoing projects in the region. Afret completion of these projects, irrigation water supply will be improved at 1000 ha agricultural land of Gori municipality and additional 150 ha of comand area will be irrigated.
Since 2012 “Georgian Amelioration” LTD implemented 53 infrastructural projects in Shida Kartli. 5000 km of the channel was maintained and cleaned and 1976 hydraulic structures were repaired, including 14 pumping stations and 7 headworks.
As a result of infrastructural works, local population irrigated 10 787 ha land and irrigation water supply was improved at 8 030 ha of agricultural land plot.
