World Bank mission visits Georgia
The World Bank mission has been visiting Georgia for monitoring of rehabilitation project of Right Main Canal of Kvemo Samgori irrigation scheme, implemented through “Irrigation and Land Market Development” project.
Within the project, Wilfred Handertmark –Team Leader of Irrigation and Land Market Development project, together with the World Bank local representatives and experts, has met with Archil Bukia-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd.
At the meeting held in the head office of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd the parties have reviewed the World Bank-funded rehabilitation project of the irrigation scheme and the action plan of “Irrigation Strategy for Georgia 2017-2025” as well as discussed draft law of Georgia on Water User Organizations (WUOs), state support programs for farmers and the arrangements required for establishment of WUOs.
Tengiz Lakirbaia –Technical Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd and the company representatives attended the meeting.
