Amelioration works are underway in Ozurgeti
Management of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd has visited Ozurgeti municipality where restoration-rehabilitation works of main canals, respective hydraulic works and pumping station of Merekrdzela-Kaprovana massif drainage scheme are underway.
The works that are carried out on 4km long offtake reach of the drainage scheme main canal shall facilitate to the protection of 640 ha of land area of the village Natanebi from surplus water.
The project also envisages repair-reconstruction of Merekrdzela-Kaprovana pumping station and power supply of the station. Hydraulic works of Merekrdzela-Kaprovana massif drainage scheme shall be rehabilitated and the territory shall be developed.
The project is carried out by “Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture. The works are carried out gradually and shall be completed by the end of the year.
