Ameliorative infrastructural works are underway in Akhaltsikhe
Rehabilitation works of Fersa-Mugareti and Giorgitsminda pumping irrigation schemes are underway in Akhaltsikhe municipality.
On both schemes pumping stations have been arranged, respective electrical equipment, wells and culverts have been installed. Damaged canal sections have been replaced with new ones, however, those which didn’t need dismantlement and couldn’t properly discharge water due to accumulated silt, were cleaned and aligned.
Territory of the pumping station shall be fenced, other infrastructural structures shall be arranged.
The ongoing works of Fersa-Mugareti and Giorgitsminda pumping irrigation schemes shall facilitate to irrigation of additional 222 ha of land area in Akhaltsikhe municipality.
As of present, “Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is implementing 5 rehabilitation projects in Samtskhe-Javakheti region that shall ensure improvement of irrigation water supply on 1 315 ha of agricultural land area in total of the region.
