Mr. Giorgi Chkheidze and Mr. Archil Bukia got acquainted with the current amelioration projects in Kakheti region
Mr. Giorgi Chkheidze, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and Mr. Archil Bukia, General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd visited to Sighnagi municipality, village Dzveli Anaga, where the rehabilitation of pumping station is ongoing.
Within the Project, implemented by “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd, the new pumping station was built, the pressure pipeline and water reservoir were arranged. The works also include arrangement of the operation road, provision of pumping station with power supply and organizing the territory. Dzveli Anaga pumping station will irrigate 1200 ha of agriculture land area of the nearby villages.
George Chkheidze and Archil Bukia got acquainted with other amelioration projects in Kakheti region.
The works are ongoing for the sediment and cleaning from plants of the Qvemo Alazani irrigation system, which will facilitate to channel design flow.
These works will improve the irrigation water supply to 3,000 ha of land. The villages of Sighnaghi municipality will be irrigated effectively: Anaga, Dzveli Anaga, Vaqiri, Mashnaari, Tsnori, Jugaani, Tibaani, Khirsa, Qvemo Machkhaani and Bodbiskhevi.
Rehabilitation is provided on the section of main irrigation channel of Lagodekhi, as well. As a result of project implementation, irrigation water supply will be improved at 300 ha of agricultural land.
