Ameliorative infrastructural projects in Shida Kartli
General and Deputy Directors of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture have got familiar with ongoing ameliorative projects in Shida Kartli. Within restoration works of Tashiskari irrigation scheme in Kareli municipality, reinforced-concrete chutes and outlet wells are installed, cleaning works of inverted siphon are in progress. The current works on Tashiskari irrigation scheme shall facilitate to the improvement of water supply on 500 ha of land area in the municipality.
Regarding forthcoming irrigation season, Megvrikisi pumping station which is the object of strategic importance for Gori, as well as Kareli municipalities, has been examined. Representatives of “Georgian Amelioration” have got familiar with repair works on Tiriponi and Zeda Ru irrigation schemes in Gori municipality.
Nowadays “Georgian Amelioration” ltd is implementing 6 rehabilitation projects of ameliorative infrastructure in Shida Kartli region. After completion of the ongoing projects, water supplied agricultural land area shall be increased by 2 180 ha, while regular irrigable land by 1 385ha.
