Rehabilitation of Mountain Canal (Mtis Arkhi)
After rehabilitation of Mountain Canal (Mtis Arkhi), water will be supplied to additional 620 ha of agricultural area in Kvemo Kartli.
Levan Dvali-Director of United Amelioration Systems Company of Georgia has inspected ongoing rehabilitation works of the aforementioned scheme.
Within the framework of rehabilitation main canal will be cleaned, existing amortized outlet units will be replaced; repair works will be carried out on hydro-technical structures (aqueducts, culverts); new culverts will be arranged; water inlet well will be arranged for feeding Bagrati canal from the main canal; new on-farm network will be arranged with typical outlet structures.
As a result of ongoing arrangements, water will be supplied to 620 ha of agricultural area of 6 villages of Marneuli municipality: Egiauri, Kasunlo, Ulashlo, Aghmamedlo, Kachagani, Tekalo).
Repairs works in the value of 2 996 990 GEL, which were initiated in 2014 and will be completed in 2015, are being undertaken by “Investstroiregioni” Ltd.
Besides mountain canal irrigation scheme in Kvemo Kartli, United Amelioration Systems Company of Georgia implements rehabilitation works simultaneously on 12 different schemes within the framework of modernization of amelioration schemes.
