Rehabilitation of Lami-Misaktsieli irrigation scheme
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture implements rehabilitation of Lami-Misaktsieli irrigation scheme in Mtskheta. The works envisage execution of anti-leakage arrangements on the canals and arrangement of dissipating well on the main canal. Within the rehabilitation the canal shall be lined with reinforced-concrete slabs, berms shall be arranged and road shall be graveled.
Lami-Misaktsieli irrigation scheme serves the following villages of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region: Tsitelsopeli, Naoza, Agdgomliantkari, Misaktsieli, Natakhtari, Akhalubani, Tsilkani, Dzalisi, Mukhrani, Kanda, Chardakhi, Tserovani, Gorovani and Vardisubani. The scheme irrigates up to 5 000 ha of agricultural land area.
As of present, water supplied agricultural land area amounts to 9 974 ha in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. Supply of irrigation water is improved on 1 600 ha, while drainage works have been carried out on 2 900 ha of agricultural land area. For the last 6 years, total of 278 hydraulic structures have been repaired in the region, up to 628 km long amelioration canal has been cleaned and arranged.
