Cleaning works of Tsilkani drainage collector are underway
Excess water will be removed from 200 ha of agricultural land area of the villages Dzalisi and Tsilkani.
“Georgian Amelioration” ltd of the Ministry of Agriculture has initiated cleaning works of Tsilkani drainage collector in March. The system is of double regulation –from the drainage collector irrigation water can also be received, that will significantly improve water supply of irrigation area on the territory. The works will be completed by irrigation season, thereby benefitting 220 households of the villages Tsilkani and Dzalisi.
David Galegashvili-Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Levan Dvali-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd and Gocha Zeikidze-State Governor-Trustee in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region have inspected ongoing works.
Since 2012 present, water supplied area has increased from 2 100 ha up to 9 500 ha, as a result of rehabilitation works of amelioration infrastructure undertaken in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region.
As of today, rehabilitation of irrigation and drainage schemes is in progress on 23 items of amelioration infrastructure, throughout Georgia.
