Rehabilitation of Tiriponi irrigation scheme
Ministry of Agriculture and United Amelioration Systems Company of Georgia implement rehabilitation of Tiriponi irrigation scheme. As a result of rehabilitation, water will be supplied to 2000 ha of agricultural area of 4 villages of Gori municipality: Zemo and Kvemo Sobisi, Zedghuleti and Kvemo Akhalsopeli, thereby benefitting 5000 locals.
Rehabilitation is being implemented on the reach of the canal with length of 9387 m (from the village Mejvriskhevi to the village Bershueti). The canal is being cleaned from plants and ground sediment. The project envisages lining of damaged reaches, arrangement of stilling well and regulation unit, restoration of non-operational hydro-technical structures.
Today, Irakli Siradze-Deputy Director of United Amelioration Systems Company of Georgia has inspected ongoing works.
Rehabilitation works of Tiriponi main canal, with the value of 800 000 GEL, have been initiated in September of the current years and will be completed in 2015.
As of today, within the framework of modernization of irrigation schemes, United Amelioration Systems Company of Georgia is implementing rehabilitation works on 10 items in Shida Kartli region.
