Rehabilitation of irrigation schemes actively goes on
Ministry of Agriculture and United Amelioration Systems Company of Georgia continue rehabilitation of irrigation and drainage schemes.
The company is implementing rehabilitation of distribution canal d-9, its secondary and tertiary canals and on-farm network of left main canal of Kvemo Samgori irrigation scheme, in order to supply irrigation water to the village Giorgitsminda. The project envisages rehabilitation of hydro-technical structures, located on the canal. As a result water will be supplied to total of 2124 ha of agricultural land area in Sagarejo municipality, thereby benefitting 6000 locals.
Today, Zviad Mandaria-Deputy Director of United Amelioration Systems Company has inspected ongoing works.
Rehabilitation works with the value of GEL 4 499 999 have been initiated this year and will be completed in 2015.
Within the framework of modernization of amelioration schemes, United Amelioration Systems Company of Georgia implements rehabilitation arrangements on 3 items in Kakheti region. Simultaneously rehabilitation works are being carried out on 35 items throughout Georgia.
