Rehabilitation of Dmanisi-Gantiadi irrigation scheme
Ministry of Agriculture and United Amelioration Systems Company of Georgia carry out rehabilitation of Dmanisi-Gantiadi irrigation scheme in Dmanisi municipality.
The project envisages rehabilitation of mechanical part of tower-shaped outlet structure of Iakublo reservoir; repair works of Tyrolean inlet structures on the Naziklich, Sarpudara and Dmanisi rivers; lining of Iakublo reservoir linking pipe and rehabilitation of inlet well; arrangement of emergency spillway; arrangement of shortcrete on Dmanisi-Gantiadi main canal ; replacement of damaged canalets; removal of inverted siphon from landslide area; repair of outlet units; demolishing of corroded pipelines of distribution network and arrangement of new route by plastic pipes; cleaning of existing distribution canals and arrangement of typical outlet units.
After rehabilitation arrangements, water will be supplied to total of 2410ha of agricultural land area in the villages of Dmanisi municipality: Dmanisi, Gantiadi, Mashavera, Didi Dmanisi, Boslebi and Vardisubani.
Rehabilitation of the scheme was initiated in 2014 and will be completed in 2015.
Total cost of the project amounts to GEL 4 127 000.
